Disraeli’s Venice – guitar solo

Disraeli’s Venice (1984) Sonata for solo guitar – 10’00”.  The piece was inspired by reading John Lawson Stoddard’s lectures on Venice.  “The Magical Delights of Solitude” has an improvisatory feel.  “Maidens Fairer than Orient Pearls” has a lyric melody accompanied by steady eighth notes with a more Latin-flavored melody as the middle section.  “An Ever-Changing Cestus” drives forward over a pedal tone.  The middle section is more relaxed and melodic.
